Language – The Masthead of this magazine is ‘Kerrang’, this Masthead stands out clearly on the page and dominates as it is put in front of the image, the Masthead is also used as the logo and is always located in the same position on each Kerrang magazine. The Masthead of ‘Kerrang’ is cleverly used and is a great name for a rock magazine as this is supposed to be the sound which a guitar makes.
The Image of Gerard Way is a close up image; his eyes are wide and looking straight which shows us that he’s shocked or scared and also connects with the audience. His hand is also put over his mouth which goes with the shocked/scared feeling. This goes with the Anchorage of “The people VS. My Chemical Romance. This is really scary!”
The screamer of “Exclusive. Foo Fighters. Inside US comeback gig!” is used to grab the reader’s attention as there is an exclusive piece of news inside, this will make the reader want to read on.
Institution – The institution of this magazine is Bauer magazine. Bauer magazine have more than 18 media brands which reach over 19 million UK adults.
Ideleology – This magazine is effective as the image automatically connects with the readers as Gerard Way is looking straight at you, the hand covering his mouth also makes him look mischevious. His hair colour of red also makes him look rebellious and unique.
Audience – Each media brand Bauer produces has their own niche. Kerrang’s niche is young individuals who are passionate about rock music. Anyone who are interested in My Chemical Romance will also be a potential audience.
Representation – This magazine shows us that the artist is mischievous and unique, this is represented by the pose which is given by the artise and the colour of his hair.
