Pictures

I liked this image as I found the quality of the image to look strong. I also like the way my model is posed, and the way the guitar looks like it is coming out of the image. I will use this image for my Front Cover.

Here is another picture I took for my front cover, I however decided not to use this image as I didn't like the way my model was posed, I wanted my model to look confident and this picture doesn't convey this very well.

For these three images I wanted my model to look in control, as my article was about 'Promises New Lead Guitarist', I wanted her to look in control of the guitar. However I decided not to use these images and experimented more.

I took these images for my double page spread, I wanted my models to look like they where friends rather than just band members. I like the way my models look playful with each other like they have known each other for a long time which is what I wanted to convey. Out of these three images, I shall use the second image for my double page spread.

Using Internet Images

I made this front cover design using my Digital Mock Up and images which I found off the internet. This will give me an idea of what my magazine will look like with my own images. I will add more coverlines, skylines and maybe change the layout of my music magazine when making the real version to see if I can make it look more professional.

Initial ideas

Name of publication:
The first idea for my music magazine name was 'Slam'
Slam definition
-          An act of shutting forcefully and loudly
-          To put, throw, or otherwise forcefully move so as to produce a loud noise
-          To hit or strike with great force
-          A noise so produced
-          An act of shutting forcefully and loudly

I however decided not to use this name as I found that it didn’t relate to music in the way that I wanted. However, from the definition of ‘Slam’ I found that the word ‘Strike’ related closely.

Strike definition
-          To hit sharply, as with the hand, the fist, or a weapon
-          To penetrate or pierce
-          To collide with or crash into
-          To come into violent or forceful contact
-          To thrust in or into someone or something
-          To indicate by a percussive or chiming sound
-          To produce as if by playing a musical instrument.

I decided to choose the name ‘Strike’ as it related to  music in the way of striking an instrument, but also created a quick forceful impact, on which rock musicians give off when playing their instruments.
